| The Spring Valley Lemon Grove Democratic club is proud to bring a piece of our local history to the greater San Diego community. We invite you to join us at our next meeting on Wednesday, June 9th at 6:30pm as we explore the historical court case of 1931 known as “The Lemon Grove Incident”. This case was the first successful school desegregation case in the history of the United States.
In partnership with the Democratic Education Alliance, we will host an open forum discussion on the case and its significance, featuring local educators and leaders, and offer a path to bring this piece of history into the curriculum for our students countywide and eventually statewide. Learn about our local place in landmark cases such as Brown V. Board of Education, and about the strength of community when we come together.
