Dear Members and Friends,

Well, the election season is racing by… We are one debate down, 3 more to go. Our October meeting is 10/14/2020 starting at 6:30 by Zoom (see below). I’m excited by the growth of our attendance over the last few meetings, we need to have a strong finish be for the November election!

Our Agenda will be:

Vickie Knight Butcher
Helix Water Board – District 5
We will like have a motion to either to adopt the endorsements of the SDCounty Dem Party which Vickie is part of or to Endorse Vickie if that motion were to fail.

Please find a short introduction about Vickie below:

“Water must be clean, reliable and affordable.”

Vickie Knight Butcher has been a resident of East County for the last 38 years. She is a life long member of the Democratic party. She raised her 5 children with the late Dr. Richard O. Butcher, who was a pioneer in his Family Medical Practice for over 55 years. Dr. Butcher served Spring Valley and Lemon Grove families from his Care View Medical Group office just below Euclid and Imperial (near Lincoln High School).

Vickie’s qualifications include educational instruction at the Elementary, Secondary, and Junior College level. She has a credential in teaching the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from Cal State LA, and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. She has also been a businesswoman in the Helix Water District where she managed the It is Written Book Store with her youngest daughter.

2. We will then look the proportions on the ballot, If you have a favorite proposition you would like to champion please let me know and I will add you to the agenda! (we will skip 15 as we covered it well last month)

3. An update on our members campaigns, and any last minute ways we can up to make November, 3 2020 a success!

Please do all you can to attend some or all of the meeting as it will be our last time together before the election. I would like to plan our November meeting together.
