What’s next?

Hi Fellow Democrats,

While we are still waiting for the final count in some of our local races, we have had a deep, unsettling reality check in national races. We now know that many more of our fellow citizens are not who we hoped, believed, and counted on. Some of them just voted for the darkness; some sat out for reasons they felt were deep-held truths yet still weighted the election toward the darkness.

We, as a local club, can do a few things to turn on a light in this dark.

  1. Meet. We are not alone or a few. We are many. Together, we can start to build a plan to impact and protect our communities.
  2. Build: We can grow our club and bring in those who need to be part of something bigger, rather than sitting alone behind a keyboard or in front of a TV, listening to fear. We can give them a place and we can develop a plan to impact in the real world.
  3. Act: We should not sit on our hands. In this non-election year, we should use our time to be in the community with a hand, a heart, and a voice for those who need it.

Join us next Wednesday, November 13th, at 6:00 PM to reflect on this election and begin planning a year of ACTION and HOPE in 2025. I know I will not live in darkness or fear, as we are stronger together in this community than any challenge we face. Join me.

In solidarity,

Cynthia Jurado

There is still an Ongoing Migrant Crisis

The current migrant crisis at our San Diego/Mexico Border is bleak and dire. Our San Diego County Board of Supervisors have allocated funds to address this crisis, but money is about to run out.

Congress must provide Federal Relief to help us address this problem. Tell your representatives to provide relief by providing the basic needs for these refugees to survive and to fully fund the ongoing efforts at the border.
