Convention this Weekend

Hi Fellow Democrats!

Thank you to everyone who came out and/or contributed to our Sunshine and Sangria Fundraiser! We raised $600 that will help us to support local Democratic candidates in our next campaign cycle!

In other news… there are a couple of opportunities to get involved.

First, this weekend is the San Diego Democratic Party County Convention! It is finally back!

You’re invited to join us on Saturday, October 28 at the Escondido Center for the Arts for a day of inspiring interactions with volunteers, elected officials, candidates, and community leaders.

The Convention will feature two general sessions, and ten breakout sessions that will showcase ongoing efforts to advance Democratic values across the County and beyond, with lots of opportunities to mingle with fellow Dems. Featured speakers this year are Congresswoman Barbara Lee, and CA Democratic Party Chair Rusty Hicks. We’ll also hear from local leaders in our general sessions, including Secretary of State Shirley Weber, Congressman Juan Vargas, State Senator Catherine Blakespear, Assemblymembers Tasha Boerner, Chris Ward, Akilah Weber, and more!

Please visit www.sddemconvention.org for additional information and to purchase tickets. General admission is $70, and includes all general and breakout sessions, as well as a continental breakfast and wrap-up reception.

Second, for those not attending the convention, come on out and canvas for Monica Montgomery-Steppe in Clairemont with members of the Spring Valley Lemon Grove Democratic Club. We’ll meet in the parking lot of Metropolitan Community Church at 11AM, 2633 Denver Street, San Diego. Afterwards, some of us will be going to Dino’s Gyros to eat and visit.

Whether we see you at canvasing or at convention, we are excited to see you there!

In Solidarity,

Spring Valley Lemon Grove Democratic Club

Getting Monica through the finish line!

Can you help Get Out the Vote for Monica?

This special election is crucial. If we don’t win, the County Board of Supervisors will no longer hold a Democratic majority.

If you are willing to help with phone banking, text banking, or canvassing, here’s what club members are doing to help.

For those that are able, we are asking for you to canvass your precinct. If you are unable to canvass, please consider phone banking with us. We are meeting at Club President Cynthia’s house every Sunday at 1pm from now through election day. Some go off and canvass alone or in pairs, others hang back and phone bank. In all cases, it is quite a bit of fun.

If you are unable to meet on Sunday afternoons, reach out and we will get you connected with the campaign for other canvassing and phone banking events.

Here’s What Else is Coming Up!
