Hi Fellow Democrats!

It is with a heavy heart that we must share the news that we have lost our dear friend and community member, John Mendoza. John was a long time club member and the husband of Councilmember Jennifer Mendoza. The work that he has done within our community to shape future will be carried with us for generations.

If you knew him, you know that we lost an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, Lion, and Christian. John woke up every day being thankful for his many blessings and his family is heartbroken.

His service is on September 15th at 11am at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Lemon Grove with a reception to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, if you feel inclined, donations can be made in his honor to the Lions Clubs International Foundation.

Because so many of our club members were so close to John and his passing has been such a shock and loss to our community, we are rescheduling the fundraiser to October 15th, at 2pm. We will dedicate some time reminiscing about his life and generosity during the event.

All previously purchased tickets will be valid on the new date and time.
